We believe the proposed AT&T cell tower at 17 Warren Road in Washington, Connecticut:
1. Is NOT NEEDED. Utilizing existing cell towers at 6 Mountain Road in Washington and 452 Bantam Road (Route 202) in Litchfield, Verizon delivers a seamless cell phone signal along Route 202 in Washington. Verizon does not need a tower at 17 Warren Rd - Why does AT&T?
2. Is on ENVIRONMENTALLY SENSITIVE land, which is home to Wood Turtles, which are a "Special Concern Species" as documented by the Connecticut DEP and is adjacent to the Wyantenock State Forest, the Shepaug River and Lower and Upper Shepaug Reservoirs with migratory bird paths, stopovers and habitats of state listed species.
3. Is in blatant VIOLATION OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING REGULATIONS of Washington, CT., will significantly disrupt a residential area which includes 23 homes and a school of 250 children within 1000 feet, and will seriously diminish property values.
4. Will be an eyesore in an area treasured for UNSPOILED NATURAL BEAUTY and may affect the area's economic reliance upon its landscape.
5. Could be DANGEROUS TO HUMAN HEALTH and will have a detrimental impact on the wildlife in our rural community.
