22 Caton Place Sideyard

During the Spring of 2006, you facilitated a binding agreement between residents of 81 Ocean Parkway, other members of the Kensington / Windsor Terrace community of Brooklyn (including Stable Brooklyn), and a representative of Empire Equities, concerning the development of the property located at 22 Caton Place. An agreement was reached which included the promise of a 16-foot sideyard between the new development and the existing development at 81 Ocean Parkway. A 16-foot sideyard would allow at least a reasonable amount of light and air for the residents along the lot-line. However, Empire Equities has since ignored its agreement, and your office has seemed unresponsive to requests to follow-up on your commitment to facilitate the agreement between the developer and the community.

We respectfully request that you, Councilmember Bill de Blasio, fulfill your promise to help us keep our neighborhood liveable.
