A Game Show Network for Australian Cable/Satellite TV

We the undersigned would like FOXTEL / Austar to add a brand new channel dedicated to television shows of the game show genre.

Television has been a part of Australian life for 50 years, and one part of television that we have been brought up on is the game show.

Over these past 50 years, we have been watching a vast array of such shows including "Bob and Dolly Dyer's Pick-A-Box", "Family Feud", "Sale of the Century", "Blankety Blanks", "The (New) Price is Right", "Wheel of Fortune", "Perfect Match", "It's A Knockout" and "Concentration".

In 1994, a new cable channel known as "Game Show Network" (now GSN) first aired in the United States of America. Below is a description of the network from the official website of GSN:

"GSN, the network for games, is the only U.S. television network dedicated to game-related programming and interactive game playing. The network features game shows, reality series, documentaries, video game programs and casino games. As the industry leader in interactivity, GSN features 84 hours per week of interactive programming, which allows viewers a chance to win prizes by playing along with GSN's televised games via GSN.com. Reaching 54 million Nielsen homes, GSN is distributed in the U.S. through all major cable systems and satellite providers. The network is jointly owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment and Liberty Media Corporation."

For the past 11 years, cable/satellite TV viewers in America and Canada have been able to watch endless hours of game show material.

It is about time that FOXTEL and Austar place a game show channel in their listings so that millions of Australians will be treated to endless hours of classic and current Australian game show material.
