A Petition to Universal and Lovfilm to end their dispute.

We the undersigned would like to strongly urge both Universal Pictures and Lovefilm to resolve their dispute over rental distribution so that we, your customers, can stop being punished for your failure to do so.

This situation has gone on for FAR TOO LONG, it is well over a year now since Lovefilm has been unable to despatch new Universal Pictures releases.

It should be transparently obvious to both of you that in this situation everybody loses:

Lovefilm is haemorrhaging customers to Blockbuster and other rental services because they want a complete offering.

Great films like Kick Ass and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World are either not being seen or people are turning to illegal downloads because they cannot obtain them legally or people are spending extra money they dont really want to hire them separately.

The customers are being penalised as we still have to pay the same rental rates and receive a reduced service.

At least until this dispute is resolved, Lovefilm should make it clear on its website that these films are unobtainable.

This dispute is simply damaging your reputations and turning customers away from both of you. It cannot be that difficult to work out a compromise, so please do so!
