ACCOUNTABILITY OF POLICE IN INDIA - GIVE MORE POWERS TO KARNATAKA LOKAYUKTA & VIGILANCE AUTHORITIES
Now a days we have read about shoddy handling of jessica lal case , hit & run case of tahiliani , etc by the police. the corruption has spread it's tentacles far , wide & deeper in the police force. The honest witnesses are threatened by police , corrupt police help rich criminals in destruction of evidences. recent encounter specialist daya nayak's case points to probable supari killing by men in uniform.
recent arrests of 5 police men of inspectors rank ( 1 of dysp rank ) by karnataka lokayukta points to deep rooted corruption in police. lokayukta has unearthed property worth crores of rupees . they have amassed those illegal wealth by compromising their official duties.
the corrupt police when deputed to vigilance authorities , C.B.I & LOKAYUKTA continue with their corrupt habbits. habbits die hard. they give out raid details to criminals in advance.
the karnataka stae government is only paying lip service to the public about giving more powers to the lokayukta. in reality it is sitting over the recommendations of lokayukta for dismissal of corrupt public servants. in some cases in contrast it has even promoted the guilty officials.
hrereby , we request H.E. the honourable president of india , honourable prime minister of india , honourable chief justice of india & honourable chief minister of karnataka ,
1. to give more legal powers to the vigilance authorities to take action against their erring subordinates , corrupt public servants & people's representatives.
2. to give legal authority to vigilance authorities to legally prosecute & to file cases in higher courts against the corrupt public servants & people's representatives.
3.to include chief minister of karnataka also under the ambit of karnataka lokayukta.
4. to enact lokpal bill bringing prime minister of india under it's ambit.
5. to legally book cases agains t corrupt police for human rights & fundamental rights violations.
6. to make it mandatory for every police official right from the rank of constable to DGP , to make public their property details every year .
we do request you to take these measures at the earliest in the interest of justice & equity. thank you.
