B2K Brake Up

Today, January 6th, i heard that B2K had broken up. This is what was posted at BET.com:

Update January 6, 2004-- According to reports, hip-pop act B2K had disbanded for undisclosed reasons, but those claims may be partially incorrect. The group's former manager Chris Stokes had publicly claimed that the group broke up, but now it turns out that the majority of the group have merely broken ties with him.

In a statement, Stokes said, "I'm very, very sad. I did not know about this at all. I'm just as suprised as you all are. I've just seen the pictures of them signing with CMX [management] myself. Me, Omarion, and Marques Houston are totally shocked. No one person broke up B2K. They are like my sons, and I can't understand how, or why they would do this, but if the boys can hear my voice now, I want them to know that I love them and I wish them the best. Plus, I am surprised because they are still under contract with me."

However, if the group is under contract with Stokes, they may have undergone changes including Omarion going solo since he wasn't seen signing the new deal. The group officially signed with CMX Management on Saturday January 3 at an undisclosed location in Las Vegas.

If the group has unraveled , it's been pretty rapid. All members of B2K, ATL, Bow Wow, and Lil Zane all performed at the Atlanta Civic Center on December 28 and a number of other shows. However, a New Year's Eve show in Philadelphia was cancelled, which may have further fueled the alleged break-up.

Officials at Sony Music, B2K's label, didn't immediately respond to inquires by BET.com.

According to a press release Omarion and brother Marques Houston will continue to be managed under Stokes' T.U.G. Management.

"[B2K and T.U.G.] had a great run together making hit songs, albums and now movies. The kids are growing up and are interested in pursing their own careers. I have enormous respect for each of them, and I wish them success in their pursuit of their individual careers," Stokes said. "B2K was an extremely talented singing group that will surely be missed."

So to all true B2K fans......PLEASE sign my petition to try to get B2K to reconcile their differences and stay together. We all love them dearly and want to see them get through whatever is going on with them. I as well as many others do NOT want to see our FAVORITE group brake up. So I am asking you.....do NOT just read this and NOT sign it. If you are a true B2K fan you will help me get them to reconcile and stay together
