Although it has been several years since the fifth and final season of Babylon 5 aired on television, the show and the fictional universe in which it is set is still cherished by countless fans! One only need look at the successful DVD and iTunes video sales to know that there is still an interest in Babylon 5. That interest was apparent enough to Warner Bros., the studio responsible for the production and distribution of Babylon 5, that in 2006 they produced a set of mini-stories set in the Babylon 5 universe. That content, titled The Lost Tales was released on DVD and iTunes in 2007. According to a Usenet post by J. Michael Straczynski, the shows creator / producer / writer, Warner Bros. was quote ... most pleased as sales have been several magnitude beyond what they anticipated.[1]

From 1995 to 2001 several Babylon 5 related novels were published. The first seven were published by Dell Publishing (child company of Random House). Thirteen other novels were published by Del Rey Books, a branch of Ballantine Books which is also owned by Random House. These books are difficult, if not impossible to purchase from physical retail bookstores and appear to be out of print.
