Ban religious uniforms in psychiatry

Uniforms make a barrier to trust between patients and doctors, especially where one would reasonably be expected to see emotionally distressed people.
If religious uniforms form a barrier to trust, patients do not give their history, without history no diagnosis, thus catholic nun employed as a social worker would be handicapped in her ability to work.
Psychiatrists and psychiatric nurses don't wear white coats or nursing uniforms. Wearing of uniform in psychiatric setting is associated with poorer compliance with treatment, more violence and more self harm.
Please think about the impact religious uniforms have on people who have suffered at the hands of religious institutions. How would you feel if it happened to you? please sign my petition, to help make a difference. Thank you
