Dear Sir,
We the undersigned would like your assistance to make the Brisbane Queen Street Mall a no-smoking zone.
The Queensland Government has progressively implemented anti-smoking laws to prohibit smoking in public areas such as bars, restaurants and some public areas. These initiatives have paved the way for a cleaner and healthier environment for people of all ages, including children. However, the Queen Street Mall has only some areas that are non-smoking.
The Queen Street mall has become a central piazza with families and children enjoying the entertainment and activities. The mall is often busy and bustling, and passive smoking becomes a health concern. The risk of being accidentally burned has also increased.
We want the law which states non-enclosed eating and drinking areas where food or drink is provided as part of a business, must be no-smoking to include public areas where vendors and food outlets are present, such as the Queens Street Mall.
Lets make the Queen Street Mall even more inviting by making it a no smoking zone.
