We, the potential players of "BioShock" for the PC platform, are distraught over the SM 3.0 shader requirement for playing the masterpiece of a game you have created.
We hope to bring to your attention the demand for this game to be patched so that it may be played on pixel shader 2.0 video cards. We believe this will open the game up to be playable by a much wider audience, and we intend to use this petition to demonstrate that very fact.
The alternative, for a lot of us, includes spending hundreds of dollars on upgrading our computer systems, sometimes requiring an entirely new system all together. We understand that there is an inevitable point in time when our pixel shader 2.0 video cards become obsolete, we just weren't prepared for that time to be now.
We believe that the support may be achievable due to the progress made by a member of the community. One member of your forums has already made great progress in a very short period of time. Understanding this is a small step and not a full conversion, we hope that you can try and further this progress into a fully playable version.

If this has already been attempted and has been scrapped do to performance issues or other reasons we understand but would like to know that the issue has not just been ignored.
A number of those of us who played the demo or the actual game itself on someone else's computer, or on the Xbox360 game console are excited and anxious beyond words, so we believe hastiness at this time, is golden. Please make playing this multiple award winning, highly acclaimed game a budget friendly reality for thousands of us.

I own an x800xt. HL2 episode 1 runs fine on nearly max specs. I ought to be able to play bioshock at least at medium quality.

Please release this patch and please don't making foolish decisions like releasing a game that 50\% of PC gamers can't even play due to laziness on your part in not supporting their hardware.
