We, Canadian citizens and avid listeners of Coast To Coast AM, request that channel 165 be added to the XM Canada (Canadian Satellite Radio Holdings Inc.) lineup.
Whereas XM in the United States already has obtained the program on channel 165.
Whereas we understand that Canadian Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. (CSR) is limited to the number of US stations they are able to broadcast by the Canadian Radio and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC).
Whereas Coast to Coast AM is a major late night talk program, broadcast on over 500 stations in Canada and the United States.
Whereas we believe that the addition of Coast to Coast AM to CSR's lineup would greatly improve the service offered.
We hereby petition CSR to make channel 165 available to Canada, by:
i) Adding another Canadian channel, which would allow more US stations to be broadcast with the same proportion of US to Canadian stations.
-or-
ii) Removing another less favourable US station, to allow the addition of Channel 165
-or-
iii) Another solution to facilitate the addition of Channel 165 that has yet to be determined.
