Bring 'Romeo and Juliet - The Vale Version' to Helensvale High in 2010

Last year; Helensvale State High School wowed fellow students, parents, teachers and community members with their rendition of Grease - The Musical.

However, this year a senior production has not been scheduled due to hectic timetables and very little interest.

Here's where you come in; I have spent the past summer holiday writing a teen version of Shakespeare's infamous play; Romeo and Juliet.

My version; entitled "Romeo and Juliet - The Vale Version tells the story of nineteen teenagers from different social groups who have been brought together by their Drama Director to perform the play. But instead of applying the drama to the actualy script, the teenagers begin to create their very own soap opera during the afternoon rehearsal. During this two hour performance; friendships will be mended, teenage issues will be dealt with, a conspiracy will unfold and love will blossom.
