The state, county, and Town of Dunn will pay 66\% of the purchase. It is possible that the county will grant another 12\% in early 2007. McFarland's share is only $11,000 per acre and will be paid for via our public/private partnership with the developers of Juniper Ridge and Prairie Place. No tax money will be used, and no borrowing is necessary. The Schuetz's will wait until the developers' fees come in.
We ask you to pursue the supplemental county grant. We ask you to exercise the option to purchase at $317,735, arranging scheduled payments to the Schuetz's as the developers' fees are received.
The Schuetz Parkland is an investment in McFarland's future. It is a gift to our children and grandchildren. Like all the parks and protected open space for which Wisconsin is famous, it will stand in tribute to wise and responsible governance for generations to come.
