We, the undersigned citizens and residents of Canada, draw the attention of the House to the following:
THAT,
many citizens and residents are currently being charged under the Criminal Code of Canada for enjoying the common and popular game of skill known as POKER, while others are prevented from hosting or participating in poker events. Canadian poker players should not be treated any differently from Canadians participating in other sports.
THEREFORE,
your petitioners request that Parliament clarify and modernize the Criminal Code of Canada by declaring that POKER is a game of skill and that private community clubs and groups be permitted to host poker games and tournaments.
THAT,
