Changes Concerning DePaul Men's Basketball Needed

Ever since Joey Meyer was fired as Men's Basketball coach in 1997, there has been no remedy to repair this program. Fans have had to endure years and years of mediocre basketball, experiencing only one NCAA victory in virtually 20 years, and over these years the Allstate Arena has grown quieter and quieter, with recent "boo's" being heard more than claps. To make matters worse, the Marketing Department for Athletics at DePaul has done virtually nothing to get people in the seats, operating more-so like a low-major than a Big East program. The once hardest ticket in town has become an item that a scalper has a hard time selling at half price. The fans have had enough!
The recent solution was hiring Jerry Wainwright, a sub-.500 coach from Richmond who has brought the same winning percentage to DePaul University. In the third year, which is said to be the "telling year" of a college basketball coach, DePaul is 9-13, and losing to sub-par teams such as UIC and North Carolina A&T.
Below are the fans of DePaul University, stating that there needs to be change in the program that has flourished before, but has been dying ever since. DePaul once used the phrase "the future is now" for one of their teams. We feel if changes are not made "now", there will be no future.
