Purpose: To gain the maximum punishment to the offender as well as contradict a current petition of said offender to receive less punishment.
4 yrs ago, My step father was charged with voyeurism and most recently charged with forced invatitaion to sexual touching, sexual assult and sexual interference. This involved my two youngest siblings. I am starting this petition one week before his sentence hearing (Nov 21st) hoping to gain the maximum sentence since learning that he has his own petition to receive lenient punishment.
the true extent of child sexual abuse in canada has only to come to light in recent decades. A study on the abuse of children, found that one in two girls and one in three boys were the victms of unwanted sexual advances before the age of eighteen; three out of five of these victems were threatened or physically coerced.
Six and seven year sentances seem to be on the high end of sentences. It must also be noted that these people can apply for parole after 1/3 of their sentence has been served and they will be released automatically after 2/3 of their sentence has been served on mandatory supervision.
