Convicted Sex Offender Doctors Allowed to Practice in Michigan!

-There is currently a major loophole in Michigan Law. Doctors who are convicted of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the I, II, and III degree (which includes child molestation) can get their medical licenses restored by state medical boards.

-There are currently registered/convicted sex offenders practicing. (violent offenders, not high school love affairs)

-There is a law to prevent sex offenders from teaching our children; so why are we allowing convicted sex offender doctors to treat our children???

-Practicing convicted sex offender doctor's are under no obligation to tell their patients, or their patients parents, about their sex offender status. Are we expected to start checking the sex offender registry before we go to or take our children to a doctor, dentist, psychologist, etc?

-Please sign this petition to support House Bills 5880-5881, which would require that a doctor, who is convicted of CSC I, II, or III, to have their license revoked. The bills do NOT include CSC IV (which would include the scenerio of a consensual relationship between a doctor and an adult patient).

- These bills are not about punishing doctors. Most doctors take pride in what they do and do not want their profession tarnished by rapists and molesters.
