1. 2 out of the 6 washer/dryer machines haven't been working since 2009. From 2009 to the present time, we have had only 4 operable machines for the entire apartment complex. One of the machines says "part ordered December 2009."
2. There is a great deal of mold covering the entire back courtyard area. This presents a health and safety risk to residents. This will be reported to the City of Chicago's Health Department.
3. The odor in the lobby of 600/602 W. Surf is putrid, and there is a foul odor coming out from the heat vents when the heat is turned on. This will be reported to the City of Chicago's Health Department.
These problems constitutes a violation of the Chicago Residential Tenant Landlord Ordinance. Therefore, we are requesting that you remedy these problems within 14 days. If the problem is not fixed within 14 days, we will exercise our legal rights and get the repair done on our own and deduct the cost from our rent. We will provide paid receipts to you along with the reduced rent.
