Petition to stop the Deportation of Luis Miguel Zamora.
Luis is a son, grandson, brother and a father of two daughters,
all US citzens.
He has lived here in the US as a Permanent Resident Alien since the late 80's.
He enter to the US since September of 1979, he was only 8 years old.
He worked as a tax-paying individual.
However, he is now looking at possible deportation to a country that, besides his birth, he has no ties to, no family in, cant speak the language proper.
This is happening all because he was not advise.
He pleaed to a gun charged not knowing anything about the immigration law...
A gun charge is an automatic deportation, Which was a public defender who did not advise him. Big mistake.
He has been sentence to 3 years and has been locked up since August of 2004.
Away from his family for some time now because of his mistakes that he has made in his life and now INS has a hold on him.
By deporting him it would permanently take him away from his daughters that need him and his family. He made mistakes and is paying for them dearly. Most people get and deserve a least a second chance in life. He has learned his lesson, matured over this past time and wants to advance in life.
