Naseem and her husband, Saleem Francis, were interviewed and approved for United States permanent residency in September of 2007. The processing of Saleems case took only a few weeks, but Naseems case has remained in Administrative Processing for 19 months while various US federal agencies check her name against terrorist watch lists. She is a Christian grandmother of 3, soon four, who has traveled to the United States legally several times to be with her family. Her husband was forced to leave her behind in Pakistan more than a year ago, as his visa approval did not allow for him to remain in Pakistan with his wife.
The Taliban are now working to increase their territory in Pakistan and are dangerously close to Islamabad, and its nearby city where Naseem lives. On April 21st, a group of Taliban raided a Christian village near Karachi, Pakistan. These men dragged women through the street by their hair, assaulted dozens, and executed two people. As a Christian woman living in a household with no men in it, Naseem is in very real danger as she waits month after month for the US to complete its processing of her case.
We, the undersigned, urge our elected officials to take whatever action is needed to provide a swift resolution to this case and allow Naseem to leave Pakistan and join her family in the United States.

I think it is absolutely ridiculous, that Naseem Francis has not been allowed to come forward to the United States, as her husband, children and grandchildren were interviewed and approved for U.S. permanent residency in September 2007. Surely, it doesn't
