Fight H.R. 3920

On March 9, 2004, a bill was entered into consideration by several Republicans in the House of Representitives in Washington, D.C. This bill, called Congressional Accountability for Judicial Activism Act of 2004, H. R. 3920, is an affront on the Constitution, an attempt to usurp power from one branch of government, and a direct violation for the checks and balances system envisioned by the Framers of the Constitution. Section 2 of H.R. 3920 says:

The Congress may, if two thirds of each House agree, reverse a judgment of the United States Supreme Court

(1) if that judgment is handed down after the date of the enactment of this Act; and
(2) to the extent that judgment concerns the constitutionality of an Act of Congress.

Effectively, once this bill is passed, congress would be able to pass an unconstitutional law, even after the Supreme Court declared it such, simply by gaining a 2/3 majority.

Write to Congress, demand action against this bill or be prepared for the onslaught of violations that will come.
