Dear Mrs. Debbie Yow,

For years we have all supported and been an intricate part of the Maryland Lacrosse family. Lacrosse has always been an contributing part of the prestige of Maryland athletics. Unfortunately the Maryland Lacrosse program has been on a drastic decline. We have went from a once highly regarded perennial power to a second tier quality team. In order for the Maryland program to become successful again it is imperlative that Dave Cottle be let go of his position as head lacrosse coach. He has had 25 years of head coach experience and has yet to win a national championship. During his tenure at Maryland, the team's post season performances have been disappointing. The true test of a coach is his ability to win in important games. In 2005 and 2006 he had two extremely talented teams. Both of these teams we recognized as championship caliber squads. Unfortunately under his command, neither team reached the championship game and were both humiliated in their final four appearances. This past season Maryland was humiliated by unranked UMBC in the first round of the NCAA tournament. This marked only the third time in school history, that Maryland has lost in the first round. In order to stop this negative trend, we ask you to help the program succeed by relieving Coach Cottle of his position.
