We, the Republic of Ireland fans of the planet earth, would support any team that was put out on the pitch. However, when in the course a time an especially bad manager comes around, any sensible person must come to his senses and do something to help the team. This is why, everyone who has signed this petition thinks that Steve Staunton should be removed from the manager position of the Republic of Ireland national football team. His remarks about a draw not being a disaster against Cyprus and his general disregard for a major tournament (European Championships, 2008) has everyone who supports the team worried. This, in conjuntion with the bad results Ireland have been getting recently has forced the supporters to sign this petition. We hope that Steve Staunton will be remember for his magnificent achievements as a footballer and not his managerial career.
