The Friends of the Jack Frost at Victoria Park is a consortium made up of The Greater Charlottetown Chamber of Commerce, The Tourism Industry Association of Prince Edward Island, The Hotel Association of Prince Edward Island, Downtown Charlottetown Inc. and PEI children, families and residents. Our mandate is to ensure the future sustainability of the festival and its rightful location at Charlottetowns Victoria Park.
The mandate of the Jack Frost Childrens WinterFest is to create a magical winter weekend for children in Atlantic Canada, providing the opportunity for families to come together and create memories through unique, high quality programming and entertainment, not normally experienced in Atlantic Canada. As a winter tourism product, increased off-Island visitation during a traditionally slow time of year allows PEI residents and businesses to prosper from increased economic activity.
We believe that the forests and playing fields at Victoria Park is the best location for the Jack Frost Childrens WinterFest. We, therefore, implore the following:
1. That Charlottetown City Council supports and grants permission for the Jack Frost Childrens WinterFest to be held at Victoria Park.
2. That the Capital Commission of Prince Edward Island establishes a Victoria Park Legacy Fund that would see $1 from the sale of each ticket donated to preserving the sustainability of the natural enjoyment of Victoria Park.

I can't believe that there are issues with this festival. If the smiles and laughter of little children bother you and you feel that PEI is economically stable enough to refuse a pile of $ in the slowest season of the year, move to the outskirts of town.
