I the undersigned AGREE that painted hermit crab shells should be banned. These shells take the hermit crabs away from the state in which nature intended. The painted shells also cause much harm in many ways: the crabs becomes sick from eating paint chips and/or have become cemented inside of the home that is designed to protect from bodily harm. Painted shells are toxic to the animal and therefore should not be sold. We don't keep lead paint on our house because of toxicity so why would you put paint on a helpless animals house.

i feel that the shells can harm my crabs,and that all pet stores should stop the sale of them. i just got my crabs and i stupidly bought them with painted shells. my olny solution was to buy normal shells and hope they change.
