Goodbye Mackay

Bracknell Forest MP Andrew Mackay has decided to stand down at the next election, following widespread ridicule at the public meeting he held in Bracknell after being caught with his fingers in the till.

However, he is continuing to claim a sizeable salary, further expenses, more pension contributions and even a golden handshake for the remaining 10 months + of his term in office. Essentially, he is taking the tax payer for a ride, and helping himself to large sums from the public purse, even after being caught fiddling his expenses (to the tune of 300,000 according to some commentators).

The Electoral Commission have confirmed that the only method now available to remove him from office, and thereby preventing further public funds finding their way into his back pocket, is for him to call a local election.

Mr Mackay has already indicated he is unwilling to call the election (why would he, when he can cream yet more cash from the tax payer?) so now it's the people of Bracknell who must take a stand, and force him from office.

By collecting as many signatures as possible, and with a goal of at least 30,000 (around half of the electorate in Bracknell Forest), Mr Mackay will have no other option than to stand down immediately, call a local election, and acknowledge that with more than half of his electorate actively seeking his removal from office, he has no choice in the matter.

We live in a democracy where he is accountable to the electorate and must listen to the voice of the people, or if he stays in office, he will be demonstrating his obvious contempt for his constituents, and his complete disregard for honesty, integrity and morality.

The aim of this petition is to collect as many signatures as possible, to demonstrate to Mr Mackay, the local Conservative office, and David Cameron, that we will NOT allow this blatant money grabbing to continue, and that the only course of action acceptable to those lining his pockets (that's me and you!) is to call a local election.

The organiser of this campaign has no political affiliations, doesn't care who is elected at this local election (as long as they're not a thief too!), and is simply a local Bracknell Forest resident, sick to the core at how this money sucking parasite has been allowed to remain in office and continues to be paid by the public, when it is clear he has little remorse for his actions, has yet to refund the expenses in question, and has morals that a slug would have difficulty stooping down to, while claiming to represent 'our interests' in Parliament.
