Grandparents and Grandchildren Need More Rights

I am writing this Petition for Grandparents and Grandchildren. We all need more recognition when it comes to Custody/Visitation Rights. When our children do wrong by their children, why must our grandchildren be the ones to suffer? When a parent can no longer care for their children, why can't a Grandparent be allowed to care for those children? When a Grandchild is being held in Foster Care because of pending abuse/neglect hearings,why can't the Grandparents have custodial rights during these proceedings?We all need more rights or the children will just keep suffering.A child deserves to be with Family if he/she can't be with his/her parents. Grandparents are the base of all children. We teach, nurture, love and share life. My 6 month old grandson has been in 3 Foster Homes in less than 2 months. And the Court won't let him be with us even though we passed state standards for kinship care. Yet, he continues to live with strangers because of lack of rights. I bless all Foster Parents for being there for children with no family. But when children have Family willing to care for them, they should have that right to be with them. Please think of the children and sign this petition.

With the number of children being adopted out of foster care growing daily, it makes one wonder where these children are coming from? Perhaps from homes where grandparents would be willing and able to care for them if given the opportunity?
