Gunn High School Bike Protection

As students of Gunn High school, we feel that it is necessary that if the school is to encourage and reward students who bike to school, they should be more willing to help protect students bikes and be more helpful in the recovering of stolen bikes when the bikes have been stolen from the bike racks during school hours and/or during school sponsored activities, after students have taken the necessary precautions to attempt to protect their bikes, including thoroughly locking them to the bike racks.

We feel betrayed when the school does nothing but have the student fill out a sheet of paper more commonly known as filing an incident report. This action has no effect, and does not help in the recovering of students bikes.

We recognize that the school as a number of issues at its hands, but because this is such an important transportation method for so many students, we feel that there needs to be some changes in how the school helps prevent and helps recover stolen bikes.
