HCBS - AN INSULT TO DELHI!!!!

Delhi is our capital city. A few years ago, the authorities rightly targeted making Delhi into a World Class city by 2020. Delhi is supposed to host the Commonwealth Games 2010, which is less than 2 years away. Its 2008 and Delhi traffic is worse than it ever was. The new HCBS initiative has a lot to contribute to this. The maiden corridor for the HCBS, Ambedkar Nagar to Delhi Gate, is the artery for motorists going to various parts of South Delhi. Using this road to go anywhere means a massive crawl. As work on the corridor progresses the traffic trouble is increasing. A simple 15 minute drive from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College in Sheikh Sarai to Chittaranjan Park takes close to an hour these days. GK I to GK II which is merely across the road takes close to half an hour. Major traffic jams are a regular now in front of Lajpat Nagar. What used to be a driving pleasure has turned into a nightmarish crawl. Rather than spend oodles of money on deconstructing the existing dividers and constructing new dividers, the money could be well spent on increasing the DTC fleet, training the drivers and slowly rolling out the Blueline buses. I might not have the countless number of degree's in sciences or traffic patterns but I do have the common sense to know that by narrowing the roads for the increasing number of cars, traffic problems are only going to increase. The pathetic traffic situation is an insult to the capital. Delhities, lets show them the power of the masses, lets raise our voice and show them that WE ARE READY TO FIGHT TO SAVE THE FACE OF OUR CITY!!!!
