HELP KEEP MILLETS GREENOCK STORE OPEN

Millets stores have been bought over by JD Sports and they are planning to close over 70 of their 300 odd stores. One of the stores they are planning to close is the Greenock store. Millets in Greenock have served the community well for many years and it has such a varied stock of outdoor clothing and equipment for sale which no other local store can offer. Sports shops offer a different range of goods and so do not compete. With there being no other competitor in our local area, the decision to close the Greenock store does not make any sense. They also have very dedicated long term staff who work hard for the company. It is too good a store to close without a fight so there are many petition forms being completed by customers, walking group members, scouts, guides etc. We thought it would be a good idea to add to these names by setting up an Online Petition to work as hard as possible to gather as many names to put before the company and try to get them to reverse their decision about closing Millets in Greenock. If you know of any people who belong to any outdoor groups or people who take part in outdoor pursuits or people who would just like to see a good store like Millets being kept open in their local area, please ask them to sign the petition. We, the undersigned, believe that the Millets Greenock store should be kept open as there is no other outdoor shop locally where we can purchase tents and camping equipment, hillwalking equipment, quality jackets, fleeces and rucksacks for outdoor pursuits along with a vast range of other useful items.
