"Due to the incident that took place on August 13th in the Sportsman race, the fans, drivers, and crews that have signed this petition make their wishes known that the following safety regulations and standards be addressed and adopted. The above signed wish to make it clear that the safety of the competitors is the foremost concern in our minds, and all steps taken to lower the risk of injury to drivers, fans and crews alike will be met with support; please take the time to hear our requests, so we can make our racing plans for next year.
1: No racing back to the caution flag.
2: The flagman be given authority to display the caution if needed without approval from Stadium Officials in the Scoring Tower.
3: Electronic Scoring - The year 2005 has became the worst year in Stadium history to score race cars. Many drivers have taken weeks off, and parked their race car due to poor or incorrect scoring. Drivers and crews request the new and advanced electronic scoring method.
4: No violence against other drivers should be permitted. Long term, or permanent suspension should be issued if taken place.
5: Better safety requirements for race cars in the 2006 season to be able to compete.
As you sign your name, please add any comments you have toward the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series and Bowman Gray Stadium to help them improve.
