On 29 May 1985, 39 people perished at Heizel.
Next year will see the 20th aniversary of this tragedy. Since 1985 the two teams that played the European Cup final that day, Liverpool and Juventus Turin, have never played each other again.
The world has seen a lot of tragedy since that day and is in need of positive impulses.
We feel that Liverpool and Juventus could provide such an impulse by remembering and honouring those people who died at Heizel.
Heizel is a black page in the history of football and Liverpool FC and we, as Liverpool supporters, will always carry it with us. In a similar way that Hillsborough will always be part of our lives.
The 39 of Heizel deserve to be honoured and what better time to do so than on their 20th aniversary?
The purpose of this petition is to have a friendly match organised between Juventus and Liverpool, at Anfield, on 29 May 2005. That way both sets of fans, as well as the clubs, can pay tribute to those who perished and the chapter can be truly closed, but not forgotten.
