"Honk If You Love Family Guy"

There are many reasons television shows face difficulties rejoining their friends in wave-space. Sometimes its hard to get the original cast together again; sometimes the writers perish in unforeseen ink-drinking contests; and sometimes in the midst of deciding whether or not to bring a show back, the producers are unsure of whether or not there is a big enough fan-base to make it worth bringing it back.

Theres little to be helped regarding the first two circumstances, but we can do something about the third.

Family Guy is very widely perceived as being one of the greatest animated shows ever to graze the airwaves. It embodies the modern spirit of humor of America, as well as people around the world. Never before has a show compacted so many types of humor into one half hour. Sure, some of the things it pokes fun at are a tad controversial and seemingly tasteless to some, but its implications are meaningless and all in good fun. A body that cant laugh at the extreme situation of a man making blatant, idiotic, sexist jokes to women is a society that cant appreciate the good satire tries to impose by bringing up an issue and exaggerating it is just no good. Heck, slap a Viewer Discretion notice before the show runs and viewers will be reminded that they will always have the unalienable right to not watch a show that contains material that may or may not be considered offensive.

But most of you know this, and heres what I propose: Sign this petition if you like the show, and would be in favor of its return.

I am aware that another petition exists regarding this issue, but I felt the other one was somewhat self-deprecated by its threats of boycotting products advertised on Fox (good thinking, guys, thatll scare em, especially since advertising is done locally and while some people are boycotting Lady Remingtons in Queens, others will be boycotting Bobs Used Cars in Annendale) and its overall threatening tone. This petition is more of a Honk if you like cookies thing, but instead of honking, you sign a petition, and instead of cookies its Family Guy, and your support may or may not be used in consideration to bring back the show.
