Introduce anti-touting law

Ticket Touting is LEGAL. Yes thats right LEGAL.
This petition is going direct to Tessa Jowell, the Culture Secretary for the UK government in an attempt to put pressure on the government to introduce a new anti-touting law that extends to all ticketed events within the UK. At the moment only football matches and the 2012 Olympic Games are protected by anti-touting laws.
The government is not convinced a new law is needed and wants promoters to tackle the problem themselves. However, the promoters are not doing enough about this. Therefore we are going round in circles whilst fans continue to lose out.
SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!
Rob Ballantine, director of SJM Concerts and spokesman for the Concert Promoters' Association, said a proposed new legislation would make it easier to catch "unscrupulous" traders. "If they were to make touting illegal, then we would be able to go after these people and take action against them," he said.
The overall aim is to obtain at least 25,000 signatures (online signatures) by 31st December 2006.
Come on the UK, lets get signing!
