On June 29, 2007 George McCorkle original rhythm guitarist of the Marshall Tucker Band passed away after struggling with cancer. Jam for George is a Memorial/ Fundraiser to help offset any major medical bills that were incurred during his illness. We plan to host an all day music festival in his honor, and would like to host this event at Barnet Park. With your help this event will be a success. Please take the time to consider all of the contributions of the Marshall Tucker Band to the city, and county of Spartanburg, and to the State of South Carolina. Show your support for a great musician, a fine South Carolinian, and a wonderful human being by joining forces with and co-sponsoring Jam for George.
