In recent years, Japan has been advancing throughout the world as a well-known developer of advanced technology, yet most regard the country and its culture as strange and perplexing, and choose not to try to understand the way it truly works. It is obvious that they will continue climbing the global social ladder, yet comprehension of their language will still remain an ability limited to few outside their own country. They have also become a very progressive and successful society, with the literacy rate among adults in the country nearly 100\% and thusly reflecting how much emphasis they place on education. Their language is even centered on showing respect for others by means of changing verbs that can have the same meaning, yet vary depending on whether or not youre speaking to your child, parent, or boss; surely we all have something to learn from just these two aspects of their very in-depth culture. Unfortunately, availability on education about the Japanese is very limited and virtually non-existent in schools around the country. Even those who wish to learn about the Japanese language and culture encounter many obstacles, since most teaching options are limited to vague books and websites, and it is for this exact reason that I would like for Japanese language and culture classes to be available to schools around the country. By signing this petition, you are letting the world know that you too join the ranks of those who hope for a more thorough understanding of the Japanese culture and understand the importance of being able to speak the language of a country that will soon play a much larger role in the global economy.
