Joomla!'s 1.5 native integration with SMF

"After months of attempting different methods, and attempting to consult with the Joomla developers, it has become apparent that a proper* bridge between SMF and Joomla 1.5 is not possible. Other types of integrations that modify the source code may be possible, but I work on bridges, not modifications of CMS's.
Development of the bridge for Joomla 1.0.x will continue until Joomla 1.0.x becomes obsolete. Development of the bridge for Mambo 4.6.x will continue indefinitely, as the structure of the new versions of Mambo is more integration-friendly than ever before.
This post is intended to give Joomla bridge users an advance heads-up, so that you can do some research and make an informed decision on the future of your site before Joomla 1.0.x becomes obsolete.
* A "proper" bridge would be one that does not modify Joomla and SMF source files. Integrations that modify source code significantly should not be called bridges."
SMF community is concerned [http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=139004.0], and I bet an important part of Joomla's also is, since I am part of those two communities where you will always get the best help available regarding these two rapidly-growing open-source projects that together sure drive a lot of communities and important sites, I have one of my own and Id hate to give up one of these.
I started my community with phpbb, I spent months trying to find a compatible CMS, and I only ended with Bitweaver, that is natively compatible with phpBB, but sadly they lack support and extentions, its quite a nice project though, anyways, I passed through XOOPS, Mambo, Postnuke, phpNuke, Drupal, JupiterCMS [extremely nice, but kinda oriented for small purposes] all the list in OpenSourceCMS.com, then I gave up with phpBB, I went for Joomla after some recomendations and through Joomlas extention archive and some other recomendations I ended up with SMF, and SMF is the best open source forum system I know, and I bet most of us that work with them want to give up any of them since we always get the best support from both sides.
I think it is a matter of will from the Joomla team so that they could adapt to SMF, and I bet SMF team woul'd be more than happy to cooperate . I used J! 1.5 and it looks rather nice, I think most of us want to see them together.
So... let this online petition be the way so that the Joomla! developer team hears us:
We want native integration with SMF =)
