Jorvik Reds flagpole petition.

The Jorvik Reds (www.jorvikreds.co.uk) are a fans group whose main aim is getting behind the team as much as we can by way of noise and colour.
You may have seen our two notable displays this season against Scarborough at home and away at Accrington. Both displays passed without any incident and us and the clubs were happy with the way the display was organised and carried out.

We feel that on the whole we have failed to add as much colour at home games on a regular basis, we have been repeatedly told we are not allowed the use of flags on poles, despite our offers to provide the club with the names and addresses of those who would be using them.

When you consider this sort of flag is used without problem at high-profile matches such as Celtic v Rangers and that they are used, once again without problem, by groups at Aberdeen, Accrington, Aldershot, Leeds to name but a few, we feel that the use of flagpoles with in a stadium can be done safely.

We understand that this is hardly the most important matter City fans have ever faced, but all we want to do as a group is support our team and do our bit to get behind them and we don't feel we are being given that chance. Since going down the life has been sucked out of Bootham Crescent on a matchday, and we feel that any chance to show our pride and colours can only be a good thing for the revival of our club.
We dont want to get into an argument with the club over flagpoles, but York City is Owned by the Fans, For the Fans, so we feel its about time the club allowed the fans to show how much they love City from the terraces!
