Justice against Cheating in Internet shopping

There are numerous websites which offers sending gifts to individuals in India. Rececntly, I had a bitter experience from one of those sites.

I've sent a gift of chocolates (Cadbury Cashew Magic Chocolates + Ferrero Rocher 9 pieces worth INR.650/-) on Saturday, 6th September 2008, through the website orchidsandroses.com. But to my dismay I found that instead of Cadbury Cashew Magic Chocolates (worth INR 350), Cadbury Celebrations (worth INR, 60/-) was delivered. When enquired about this to their trivandrum distributor, the answer we got was that this happened because Cashew Magic is out of stock. This is absolutely unacceptable as there is a huge difference in the price.

So I followed up through email ([email protected]) and phone (+91 98866 18866) and Aarti (the contact person) has assured that this will be rectified. However I had to make 4 International calls to follow up. At last on Sept 19th, they have delivered another packet (Cadburys Nuts Butterscotch worth INR 155/-). Guess what! This time also, they havent delivered the right chocolates. I've called them again. This time Aarti handed over the call to a person named Ravi who talked to me very arrogantly saying that the price for this is also given as INR 350 in their site and they cannot do anything as my original order is out of stock.

Readers, See how well they are fooling the internet customers!! They think that the person who sends gifts doesnt follow up, so that they can deliver any low cost items. I'm determined to approach consumer court to get my compensation. Apart from the financial loss (including the international phone call charges) my dignity has been hurt as I could not deliver the right gift on time (Especially I was embarrased that my recipient has got cheap chocoloates).

I would like to see action against this website and see that they are out of this internet fooling.
