Justice for Malis Chum

Petition for the Release of Malis Chum from Preysor Prison

My name is ., and I am petitioning on behalf of Mr. Dara Oeur for a speedy release of his aunt Malis Chum who has been imprisoned inside a Cambodian jail for too long for a crime she has never committed. I believe her rights as a US citizen has been violated when she was unlawfully detained in Cambodia after a trip there to attend her mothers funeral. She is being confined in a Phnom Penh jail because her former Cambodian business partners want to extort money out of her.

For Malis safety and quick release from prison, I respectfully ask the Khmer Government to intervene with the Phnom Penh Municipal Court to help set her free. Furthermore, I am asking the U.S. Ambassador Carol A. Rodley in Cambodia to please pressure the Khmer government or Mr. Hun Sen himself for Malis' safe release. In abiding with the rule of law, I am also petitioning the Khmer Ambassador Hem Heng in Washington, D.C. to please work with the P. Penh court to find justice for and immediately release Malis Chum.
