Justice for Michael Aram Workers

Great art should not be created at the expense of human dignity.
It has come to our attention that a dispute within your company's management has caused an unfair work stoppage, non-payment of wages, and denial of legal bonuses for at least 18 of your workers at Michael Aram Exports Private Limited, Okhla Industrial Area, New Delhi, India. We therefore call upon you to immediately:
- Pay these workers all wages and other payments they are due.
- Let them get back to work: re-absorb these workers immediately at any of your operating production units of your existing companies in India.
- Honor your verbal promise to offer work to the wife of your former worker Ramdev, who as you know was killed while in transit from the Labor Department to your site as a result of the non-payment of wages.
Until these conditions are met to the satisfaction of these workers, we shall promulgate a grass-roots boycott of all Michael Aram goods in the United States and elsewhere, effective immediately, through a campaign of discussing this issue with all of your US-based retail distributors, demonstrating in-person at selected locations and events, and spreading the word to media outlets and your prospective customers.
We ask that you show your integrity as an artist and as an employer, and treat your workers with dignity and fairness. Please do not let an unrelated management dispute ruin the lives of these innocent, industrious people.
