Assistant District Attorney Scarlett Scannell. and district Attorney Joe Early- Please make a statement in this case that acts of cruelty to an animal in central Massachusetts is NOT ok and will NOT be tolerated. Nikkia was a dog so severely neglected her flesh was being eaten away my maggots! This is disgusting and can not be tolerated!!! This crime should be as punishable as it would be were it to happen to a human. This dog deserves more than just a paragraph in the local paper.

Please make sure these people do time in jail. No animal should have to suffer at the hands of these people ever again. This is a punishable crime.
