Justice for Tyler

Citizens from all over our country and the world as well, have been disqusted at the verdict against Tyler Edmonds of Mississippi. For a thirteen year old boy to be charged as an adult for 1st Degree Murder and then at fifteen to be convicted based solely on a false confession is a travesty to the justice system. The actions of Judge Kitchens were, to say the least, a farse in the face of the defendant and his legal representation. This judge has proven himself bias since the beginning and even when he was requested to recuse himself from this case, he refused. He denied Tyler bond on three seperate occasions and when a federal judge ordered bond be set, Kitchens advised the prosecutor to appeal the decision which kept Tyler locked up until now. And with the trial over, the motion is not needed.

This petition is a request to have Judge Kitchens removed from the bench and disbarred from any further involvement in the legal system. It is the wish of all citizens that every American receive a fair trial and whereas Tyler is a juvenile and should never have been in the adult system to begin with, he was still entitled to a fair and unbias day in court. He did not receive it.

Child advocates from all over the glode and several internet based groups are asking this Judge be given the real justice that he refused Tyler Edmonds. It is also requested through this petition that once Judge Kitchens is removed, Tyler's conviction be thrown out and he is granted a new and just trial. Our country was founded on honesty and justice and freedom for all. But our children are being treated too harshly by adult courts where they do not belong at all. We believe that no judge has the right to set in motion acts that will secure a definite conviction. No judge has the right to decide that a child should spend the rest of his/her life in prison just because he believes they are guilty. Judge Kitchens would not allow testimony or evidence that could have sent the jurors in a different direction and even changed the rules of the trial half way through it when he gave the jurors more choices of conviction than had been set before the trial began. This man was more than determined that he would make sure the prosecution would win by whatever actions he had to make, legal, fair, just or not. And his actions did not go unnoticed. He was more than obvious to all.

Our hope is that those who receive this petition will take action and give fairness a decent and much needed chance in our courts
