Keep Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson Silent

We, the undersigned, do hereby demand that all major media outlets including, but not limited to ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN stop giving airtime to Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell. Since it is not our place to judge these men, we do not wish to question the sincerity of their convictions or the validity of their relationship with the Almighty. However, many of the statements that they have made in the past and continue to make are not only illogical, but completely out of line with the teachings of Christ they claim to hold dear. We realize that itвs these very statements that keep them in the news as lunacy often equals high ratings, but itвs doing journalism a disservice to claim that they represent millions of Christians, many of whom want nothing to do with them. When you give them press coverage, you only give credence to their ignorant statements and allow them to defame the Christian community in the eyes of the public. So please, we beg of you: do not interview them, do not quote them, and do not use them as representatives of or spokespersons for American Christians, вevangelicals,в the religious right, or anyone or anything other than the organizations that they lead (The Christian Coalition and Liberty College).
