to the Ulster County Industrial Development Agency
On behalf of the Undersigned, being The Employees, family, friends and neighbors of Empire Merchants North, 132 Flatbush Avenue, Kingston, New York.
We, the undersigned, represent over 200 families, most all of which reside in Kingston and Ulster County. We live here, work here and raise our kids here. Our children play here and are educated here. We earn our wages and pay our taxes here; we shop here and we dine here. We contribute to and bolster the economies of Kingston and Ulster County.
Colony Liquor, now Empire Merchants North has been in Kingston for over seventy years and many of us are second generation employees of Colony Liquor. Our company, through a merger with an Albany-based company, is growing and we have to expand our operations. We need the Ulster County Industrial Development Agency to help us keep our jobs as well as the new jobs here in Kingston.
We ask that the UCIDA approve the application of Empire Merchants North and waive the Prevailing Wage clause thereby enabling our company to build an addition onto our facility for a competitive price.
