This petition is designed to save the animals of Marine Life in Gulfport MS. Here is a few details from one of their trainers.
"One of the owners is trying to sell all of the animals to the highest bidder and be done with it. If that happens, Marine Life will be no more and the animals will all be shipped out of the country without their trainers. The other owner is fighting this because of course like us, he wants to keep the animals in Mississippi where they belong, and rebuild Marine Life. There is a huge legal battle going on right now. Marine life was the only facility of it's kind on the Mississippi Gulf coast. Now more than ever after hurricane Katrina, our community needs a place like Marine Life to go to. On a personal note speaking as one of their trainers, my heart is breaking. The training staff literally risked their lives to save these animals after the storm, you won't find a group of people more dedicated. As a reward for that, the animals are being taken away from us. We want what is best for our animals, and we truly believe that means keeping them here in Mississippi with the people who have cared for them for the last 14 years. Please do your part to help. The more people we have fighting for us, the more likely is the chance that we will win. Please forward this to all of the people you know as well. It doesnt matter where they live, every new voice will help. Thank you all so much. Please keep the animals in your prayers.
