On Wednesday, June 29th, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare unilaterally and without prior notice took alleged emergency action and closed three of the four daycare facilities operated by Kid Biz, LLC in Washington County, Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare sited gross incompetence, negligence and misconduct as the reason for the emergency closure. The Department of Public Welfare wants the families affected by this closure and the public at large to believe that the decision to close these facilities was made in the best interest of the children. Despite the opinion and skewed judgment of the Department of Public Welfare, children thrive on consistency and routine. It was irresponsible and damaging to take these children away from their familiar environment; a place they know as their school, their classrooms, their teachers and their friends, by the very people who claim to have our childrens best interest at heart. Kid Biz, LLC believes the Department of Public Welfare acted irresponsibly, in so far as it has single handedly displaced over 300 hundred families, as well as the many staff and employees that serve the children on a daily basis. We have hired legal counsel and intend to vigorously fight this unconstitutional action by the Department of Public Welfare.
