Leah's Law

This is an effort to amend the law concerning prejudicial evidence . We are seeking to allow proof of previous past criminal activities and/or convictions to be admissible into court proceedings during trial, if the perpetrator was on probation at the time a felony murder was committed.
We feel if you are on probation for whatever reason, and you commit a felony, your rights regarding prejudicial evidence should be forfeited.
It is time to get a grassroot movement going to change and appeal some of our archaic laws. It is time to put the criminal on trial instead of the victim, and give back the rights to the victims of serious crime, whose voices have been silenced forever.
If you agree, please sign our petition: we need 5,000 signatures to start this process.
This petition is in honor of Leah Victoria Avril, who was murdered on Nov.17, 2009. We hope to get a bill introduced into the State of Tennessee Legislature as Leah's Law.
