In January 2010 Angela Green’s mum sadly passed away from non small cell lung cancer . As Angela’s mum was a joint tenant of 155 Wrythe Lane with her husband Jim the tenancy was automatically succeeded by Jim. Sutton Housing Partnership states that a tenancy can only be succeeded once. Angela made contact with Sutton Housing Partnership to ask if it would be possible for her to succeeded the tenancy as Jim’s health had been suffering for a long time and in order to gain some sort of security for herself in the event that anything ever happened to her dad. Unfortunately after numerous conversations with Sutton Housing Partnership and Local MP Tom Brake, Angela was denied this opportunity. After marrying Darren Green in 2011 they again contacted Sutton Housing Partnership with regards to taking up the option of the “right to buy” option that her Dad was entitled to. Sadly in February 2012 Darren died tragically in a fatal road traffic accident leaving Angela without her husband, reduced income and the responsibility of caring for her elderly father alone. Due to the reduction in household income Angela could no longer get a mortgage. After Darren’s passing, Jim’s health continued to falter and sadly 4 weeks later lost his battle with illness and passed away on the 26 March 2012. Facing an uncertain future and the possibility of losing what was supposed to be her marital home and where she would raise the family that her and Darren were planning. We are not asking for charity, we would simply like to ask you for your support in raising as much awareness as we can about this situation, so that we can be in a position to show Sutton Housing Partnership that Angela deserves to stay in her family and marital home as a full rent paying tenant after living here for the last 27 years.
