Leamington's Victoria Park is awash with walkers, runners and parents pushing prams during daylight hours.
However, when darkness falls, the park and the facilities contained within are completely unusable.
What the Leamington Courier is looking to do is to lobby Warwick District Council into installing lighting in the park.
This would not only help provide a safe environment for runners to train during the winter months, but would also allow walkers to pass through the park without fear.
Initial correspondence with the council's parks development manager was not overly positive, with him citing funding as a stumbling block.
He did say, though, that he would be interested in gauging the demand for lighting in the park.
Therefore, this is a perfect opportunity for the people of Leamington and Warwick, and the running community in particular, to come together and let their feelings be known.
Please sign this petition and help Warwick District Council see the light.
